Avenham Walks - Stop F - Earl of Derby's Statue

A statue of Edward Stanley, the fourteenth Earl of Derby, stands at the top of the steps overlooking the fountain (Stop F). The statue was erected in gratitude after he donated £5000 to the relief fund to help the starving of Lancashire during the 1860’s cotton famine.
