Avenham Walks - About Us

Avenham Walks is a project developed by volunteers from local Preston businesses in conjunction with Business in the Community.

The Avenquest Community Regeneration Trust and Business in the Community got together and devised a plan to create two walks (one long and one short) around areas of local interest in Avenham, Preston.

The project which involved researching local history, taking photographs of sites of interest and developing a printed leaflet and website was made possible by the volunteer efforts of staff from a range of local businesses and organisations including Omega Alpha Limited, Leyland Trucks, Inland Revenue, Benefits Agency, Sainsburys, TA (Kimberley Barracks), Heathcotes, Jeff Benson Learning and Development and the Harris Museum.

The aim of the project is to raise the profile of Avenham and show off its more interesting features which are often unknown, even to local residents.

For more information about Avenham, visit the Avenham page.

For information on the walks, please select either the Short Walk (about an hour) or Long Walk page (about two hours).
